This Day in Gaming, December 7th

2000: Nintendo releases Mario Party 3 for N64 in Japan. Because Mario can't get enough parties. Seriously, every time he goes "super" he's totally trippin balls.

2001: The ESRB hires Regis Philbin to take part in a game ratings awareness PSA. The gimmick of his commercial is that he takes part as a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. And it went something like this:

"Mr. Philbin, would you like to use a lifeline?
"Guess I'll have to."
"Who would you like to call?"
"I'll call Kelly."
Crowd roars with laughter.
"Very funny. Who would you like to call?"
"What's wrong with Kelly?"
"Umm...Regis...have you watched your show?"
