    1994: Sony releases the Playstation console in Japan. The system is a massive success, being the first console to sell over 100 million units. And more importantly, it's a ton of fun to play. Of course, Sony had originally attempted to work with Nintendo on the SNES CD, but after the deal fell through, Sony decided to make a console of their own. Remember when just a little while ago this decision seemed like the biggest mistake Nintendo could have ever made? I guess times change. Regardless...
