Sony have let a new model of the PS2 slip sneakily onto the market. But it's OK. Calm yourself. You won't notice much of a difference, as the changes are internal. The ominously-titled SCPH-79000 has been cut from 900 to 600 grams, with the external power supply slimming down from 350 to 200 grams. This is all thanks to the wonders of part reduction, which not only has the PSTwo feeling great, but looking great as well. A side-effect of this reduction is that the console is now even cheaper to produce, which means we might just be in line for that magical $99 price-point sometime soon.
