Y'all know that Mother's Day is THIS Sunday, right?! (Just trying to do a mini-public service announcement.)
Amazon.de, better known as Amazon Germany, thinks that this Mother's Day, the "frau" who brought you into this world would love a DS Lite and is even advertising that fact on their website with catchy phrases like, "Mother's Day: Bring your mom into the game!" I'm not sure if that's the best advertising copy ever written, but I can tell you I brought my mom "into the game" once a while back, and she could actually shake those Samba De Amigo maracas pretty good, but it was still kind of scary.
As well as Germany, it seems like Japan too has gone Mother's Day crazy for the DS Lite, putting its themed advertising campaign in shops, print ads, and even TV commercials on trains. With all the DS shortages, it's a good thing that most moms don't mind getting just a card.

you know funny story, but both my mother and my fiance's mom now have a DS and play them religiously. My mom plays a few games and Brian Age, while my Fiance's mom is all into Puzzle Quest right now. And they are not young. My moms 60.
So before anyone here comments about what kind of mom would want a DS, you would be surprised.
I got my mom a DS for her birthday
And she got hooked on it, her favourite being Animal Crossing......
.....and then got my aunt hooked on Animal Crossing......
.....and a second aunt got hooked on Animal Crossing.....
I never would have thought that'd happen
"Hans, ich speile die DS nicht gern! Wo ist mein "Gears of War?"'
Oh Germany.
Yeah, my mom has a DS. I can't remember when I got it for her though. A year or so back I guess. This year me and the wife ordered her a M3DS Simply.
Phew, as i'm from England the dates of mothers day are differnt over here. As soon as I read it was this sunday I flipped out and started to panic considering if I could re wrap any of those cocorosie cd's or sigur ros cds and flog them off to my mum....
Then realised, alls well as we had ours in March. That £10 is saved for another year.~~
My Mom and Dad both already have DS Lites, but hey, I can always get them a PSP. Haha, just kidding. I'll get them DS games.
Yup, Cooking Mama for my ma! All she's had to play on her DS was Brain Age (of course), and some classics compilation.
It's been a while since my last German class, so maybe someone can clear this up for me - shouldn't Deine be Ihre, the formal posessive? Or is this OK and meant to be informal?
My parents are older, and have absolutely no interst in gaming. Although we did get my Dad to enjoy Tenacious D.
@Dervish: It's meant to be informal.^^ It's just a device of speech, or hot it is named in englisch.-_-
@Dervish: It's meant to be informal. Just a device of speech.(or speech device?XD)
This is meant to be informal.
And to "bring" somebody "ins Spiel" is a German proverb, which just means to bring somebody or someone into something, or to introduce them to something. It must have nothing to do with a actual Game. But since in this case it has it is actually nice wordplay.
I've actually been wondering when mother's day is. I was going to ask my mother, but that would just get me beat.
Again.
I just Bought My Mom a Pink DS Lite and a copy of Club House Games. The last time she was at my house she stayed up till 2am playing one of the puzzle game. If your in Canada EB Games has an insane deal that if you trade in 6 games that have a trade in value of $8 or more you get the DS for free!
Instead of spending an extra day with my Fiancée I decided to book the tickets a day later and spend a day passive aggressively torturing a friend that works at game until he'd let me use his staff discount to buy my Fiancée a DS lite, but my mother? I think she got to the first boss in Sonic when I had a master system, that's about all on her gaming resume.
there even was a tv commercial in germany were they explained how dr kawashima works and how great of a mothers day present it would be, just like in japan
