Another great video game has been announced, certain to elevate the erudition of the art form as a whole: Codemasters has signed anthropomorphic excrement character brand The Turds for an upcoming casual game. Developed by Pilot Interactive, gamers will be able to play as The Turds in a series of free web games through Funsta.

Who are The Turds? From the official website:

On a winter's night in 2001, during a heavy drinking session at home amongst friends, I decided to stumble off to the toilet for what was going to be a good, pan splitting chunder. For some reason, and don't ask why, I'd bought a small lump of brown plasticine with me from our studio. Whilst performing my toilet bowl opera and singing my guts up for the toilet gods, Huey and Frank, I'd managed to crush the plasticine to a pulp. Once I'd delivered the goods, and that wonderful feeling of calm sank in, I found myself looking at the plasticine. I decided to take that pulp and create a turd with a face. As I played with my new friend on the side of the toilet seat, I knew this was the start of something special.

History was made that night. The Turd World was born.
