do ps2 games work with the dualshock 3?
i hope they pack in the dualshock with ps3 in 08.
What does the blue text under "DualShock 3" say? I'm guessing SIXAXIS?
So, all those developers already knew?
I'm pretty surprised that games that are going to be released about 2 weeks from now will support the Dualshock 3 controller. Seems like all the publishers knew. Now to get the updates for the current ps3 games and hopefully the ps2 games.
Anyone in Japan want to send me one in November?
Yea it says sixaxis under dualshock 3,thats a pretty good list.I dont really care about rumble, its not there now and it dosent bother me, but at least sony is now paying attention to the consumers.Giving them what they want.
This is the absolute best thing they could've done with their back catalog.
@Jonn: Yup, one of the guys at GAF works at Insomniac and said he is glad that cat's out of the bag and that the DS3 is neat. Didn't say anything else thoug.
@ceilingfanboy: I'm sure they'll be websites to buy from.
You know what's a funny idea? A caveman playing a Playstation 3 and then the controller rumbles in his hand, so he drops it, makes some hooting noises and then smashes it with a rock.
I'll be here all week.
Wait, Highlander? Did someone announce a Highlander video game and I didn't notice it? I just re-watched the movie 2 weeks ago!
There can be only 1!
Great... now they have a list for games that are DualShock 3 compatible and a list of backward compatible games for the PS3. What else do they need to revert too?
I'd just like to add...FUCK patent trolls.
@ceilingfanboy: we'll likely be buying from the same import shop, man.
@TechnoDestructo: amen to that.
@Trowble: a list of people not complaining about this?
@Bellamy: was wondering that myself, some new names here. i didnt even know condemned 2 was in the works, or multi-plat.
@Truepatriot: im assuming "yes" cause its a waste if not, and ill be so pissed ill cry.
Nice to see that all the older games support the rumble! I'm very happy.
CONTHIPWACY!
2008 will be the best for Sony with all the great games coming out too..I just they would of give us more at TGS..
@BPMOmega: Yep, that says SIXAXIS.
Today's a fantastic day to be a PS3 owner...
No Lair?!?
Rumble and Motorstorm ?
My pants are a cream-filled wonderland.
@TheIrishNinja: I said revert, not recite.
I'm assuming the Japanese controllers will work with no problems on US machines?
I hope there'll be some kind of program for trading in your old Sixaxis controllers.
There are a lot of titles that I hope get patched with rumble, titles like The Godfather, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, NHL 08, NBA Street, The Bigs, F.E.A.R., Skate, etc. Notice publishers like EA and Midway consistently being lazy sacks of crap. And Tecmo/Team Ninja have no freakin excuse, they wanted to make a kickass feature packed action game, now they should update it with rumble!
Seriously? Why not just make a list of game that DON'T work. It seems infinitely easier than this, to be honest.
@silentbob343: @TheIrishNinja: I'm thinking that www.ncsx.com will probably have them. I don't know how expensive they are going to be, but I've bought plenty of stuff from them and it is a good site to work with. I love that when you email them you actually get a real person responding rather than a form letter response.
All I needed to hear was MGS4.
FIFA franchise (title name TBD) ELECTRONIC ARTS
Any guess? Any guess at all what this title could be named?
But other then that, it is good to see these in legacy titles
Wonderful! Now if only Sony can get their shit together the first time around. *runs back to Halo 3*
most cross platform games probably just left in the rumble code. its the ps3 only games that needed updates.
GAH. What the F!! Why didn't they make the L2 & R2 triggers indented! Damn, that would have made this thing perfect. Anyone filed down the trigger buttons on their own?
@DarthHomer: Ya no kidding, good news all over the place, just look at the last 10-20 posts
don't you ppl know the Six-Axis not only has motion control and now Rumble it also only speaks Japanese or English and then a couple of years later w/e EU has but no one cares
AMERICA! FY!
so many games i have to wait to trade in now ;)
snakeball, highlander, Rat Race, The Crucible, Planet One, Cops, Legendary: The Box, To End All Wars, Hero's over Europe, Wardevil - Unleash the Beast Within, and Elefunk...was any of these titles announced before today?
Wait, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is not on this list. I beg for rumble every time I play this game.
Turok Disney Interactive
Wait seriously?
Love the Picture. it looks like something out of an 90's Nintendo commercial, are you guys trying to give it a Last-jen appearance??
Good show. I was really hoping rumble would be back by chanukah so I could have my LANukah party. Now I can!
"Today's a fantastic day to be a PS3 owner..."
Not really. Now you have a shitty control that feels as light as a feather (I have played with it, and didn't enjoy it) and have to buy anotehr one.
Me and all others who *don't* have a PS3 though. We can get one with a good controller.
This and LittleBigPlanet is what's gonna make me buy one of those expensive black boxes.
So this proves that I'll likely be importing a DualShock 3 from Japan then? Cool. (not)
@DarkCode: sure hope so, cause we'll all likely be importing if so.
@Gabexmosh: eh, i wouldnt hold my breath.
@Samos42: yeah, but they snuck in a few new titles, im thinking that was part of the plan?
@ceilingfanboy: cool, so uh, you planning on emailing them for info, then? heh.
@Gunhaver: how are you running to something that's not yet out?
@Aglet: yeah, life is hard.
It's such bullshit they're bringing it to Japan with such a long lead time when we'll have titles that natively support rumble (such as The Darkness) just sitting around still and silent for the next 6 months. Guess I'm gonna have to join you guys importing. Way to fuck up good news Sony. Which region buys the most of your consoles?
Ooh, no Sega Rally. After playing the 360 demo I wouldn't want to play that one without rumble.
@Truepatriot: I would hope so. Knowing Sony, it may be a while before they issue a patch to make it so.
how to we know if the PS3 will have the new dualshock 3? Will it be printed on the box to tell us? Don't want to buy the PS3 and then find out it doesn't have the new controller. That would p*ss me off.
mwuhahaha, let's make sure we turn this good news in bad news ASAP people!
mwuhahahaha...
sad.
Wait, but does it mean that these games will actually have rumble, or will they just work with the controller?
@Malmer: An worthy question, but I'm sure it means this list is for games that are rumble compatible with the DualShock 3. The DualShock 3 is an official Sony branded controller for the PS3, so that would automatically mean that every PS3 game works with it (or at least it should), thus making a list for that alone would not be neccessary.
Phil Harrison should take a punch in the mouth with a DualShock 3 on live TV as penance for lying to all of us so directly. If Resistance and F1 CE support rumble then Sony knew all along rumble would be back. They could have simply said "no comment" to the rumble issue rather than all of the "last gen" type BS. I tried to convince myself that I wouldn't miss rumble but playing Shadow of the Colossus on my PS3 woke me up fast. Not to mention how much immersion (hah! pun!) is increased in F1 by rumbling over the kerbs.
