Street Fighter Live Deserves a Hundred Hand Bitch Slap

I despise the Live bastardization of Street Fighter II Hyper Fighter. What I can't figure out is if I hate it because I just can't deal with the controller or if it's the game itself.

First, before you call me a newb or scrub or hater, I used to run an arcade famous for its Street Fighter tournaments. That doesn't mean I was a fantastic Street Fighter gamer (I was average), but I was very familiar with the game. Very. I know Microsoft says that this is a direct port of the arcade ROM, but some of the characters just don't feel right.
Maybe it's just that I haven't played the game in awhile, but it seems like the cheesy characters have been redefined.

Also, the single player difficulty has certainly been tweaked. I spent the morning trying to find a manual for the arcade board to see how many difficulty settings it had. My memory is really bad, but I recall it was closer to five, not seven. If that were true, that would prove it's not the original ROM.

I suspect that when Capcom went in to add things for Live, they also played around a little with the rest of the game. So what we have is something a little off from the original arcade version.

And don't even get me started on the timeouts. When you spend a night playing a game and one in every five DON'T timeout, there's a problem.

What's everyone else think about the game?
