Sony boss Howard Stringer on the Wii:
Wii is a wonderful device, but has a different target audience. If we fail, it is because we positioned PS3 as the Mercedes of the video game field. PS3 is after a different audience and it can be whatever it wants — a home server, game device, even a computer.
Highlight? Not the fact he says it's a wonderful device - a by-product of Nintendo distancing themselves from Sony and Microsoft's path means it's easy for a rival boss to admit stuff like that. No, I find it interesting that the leader of Sony went on record highlighting a potential reason for the failure of the PS3.
I can see where he's going with that, but the choice of words? Sub-par. Think happy thoughts, Howie!
