Hold onto those Nintendo stocks!
Yes, Slate hates the Wii, and they didn't help themselves by making a mess of their reasons why. But in a stunning display of bi-partisanship, they also love the Wii! And have made a mess of the reasons why!
Their "pro-Wii" article is called "Wii Is the Champion: Nintendo's new console bests the PS3 and the Xbox 360". Sounds positively fanboyish, but for some reason the author, Chris Suellentrop, spends half the article saying silly things like:
Twilight Princess is fun, and worth picking up if you have a Wii, but it's not the gaming revolution augured by Wii Sports.
and,
A good book or movie provides a vicarious experience. A good game comes much closer to being experiential—to actually approximating the real thing. The Wii, Nintendo's new console, takes gaming a giant leap forward in this journey.
Chris, you're thinking too hard. Games are fun, not experiential.
