Consistency for the win.
Sony and Immersion making nice is obviously leading up to something. Jack Tretton, when asked in an interview on Gametrailers about the subject:
You will see peripherals coming from SCEA that will address the interests of the U.S. consumer. I don't have anything to tell you specifically, but we're open to changing the Sixaxis controller.
You mean putting rumble back in? I'm sure everybody who was diehard enough to go out and buy a PS3 already, and maybe even an extra Sixaxis or two, are going to be thrilled with this news.
Great news for everyone else, yeah, don't get me wrong. GT without rumble would have been a sin. Just a little consistency might be nice, that's all. I know if I'd bought a PS3 only four months ago and was now being told the controller would be changed I'd feel a little gipped. But that's just me. Maybe I have an above-average propensity towards feeling gipped.
