My prom? It was spent passed out in the lobby of a Nashville hotel, drunk. Amazing considering I went to high school in Texas. But, I've been 1Up'd by a reader over at game blog The Last Boss whose prom was, get this, Mario-themed. The kid writes:

I just had my senior prom and the theme was Super Mario Brothers so I snapped some photos and I thought you might be interested. The prom was at Chelsea High School and . . . the photo of the large NES Controller with the hands on it needs some explanation. That controller was wired up to actually control the original Super Mario Bros. game which was projected onto a wall nearby. All the buttons worked and it was possible to play solo, but it was much easier to have someone manning the control pad and someone else on the A and B buttons.
