SCEE have issued a statement in regards to the hissy-fit the Church of England threw on the weekend over Manchester Cathedral's portrayal in Resistance. It's basic argument? A solid one: that Resistance is not real.
Resistance: Fall of Man is a fantasy science fiction game and is not based on reality. The game is set in an alternate and mythical version of Europe in the 1950s, in which the enemy are strange looking alien invaders seeking to destroy humanity.Whilst we believe that we have sought and received all permissions necessary for the creation of the game, we will be contacting the Cathedral authorities in order to better understand their concerns in more detail.
This one's going nowhere, and would have never seen the light of day were the building in question not a church. The game's not real, the aliens are not real, and your character is not "encouraging gun battles", he's trying to save the world (and thus Manchester, and the church). Let's all get back to work, OK? Nothing more to see here.
