    1977 Sears Tele-Games Commercial

Ooooh! The Sears Cartridge Tele-Games system with over a hundred and fifty games! I can tell it has lots of games from all those new-fangled color television sets in the background. I really like the sleek design of the game unit, it's really...hey, wait a minute! That's not a Sears Cartridge Tele-Games system, that's an Atari 2600!

How is this possible, you ask? Well my little Kotakuites, gather around and I will tell you a story of days gone by. Long ago, in the era of department stores, Sears ruled the school. They were so prominent that they were able to get companies to produce products for them that they would then turn around and slap their own name on. They did this with many products including the Atari 2600, some of its games and even the Intellivision. Eventually, they decided to stop ripping off the little guys and just sell things with their regular names. Everyone lived happily ever after, The End.
