I like the kids over at Insert Credit/Selectbutton. So hearing they'd started a games reviews site, called Action Button, got me interested. After popping over and seeing they'd given God of War II 0 out of 4 stars (and can sorta back it up), I'm a fan.
This isn't your "justify my impending purchase of the latest mega-hyped mega-game" kind of review site. If you're after that, I'm guessing you already know where to go. No, this is for anyone who, as the delightful Tim Rogers puts it, likes the sound of:
Basically, this website is made by a person named me, who has realized that the seat at the games journalism UN marked "the pitchforkmedia.com of videogames" is suspiciously vacant, and no one else seems to notice. So I've decided to walk in and, well. Sit there. In fact, I did sit there, just today, and I'm not getting up.
Granted, many of you will find the site "wanky". The words "new", "games" and "journalism" come to mind, and that can be a little off-putting. If so, it's not for you. If you're a little sick of reading "a slightly cliched premise bogs down this otherwise innovative title - 9.2/10", though, it's well worth a look. If only to see just why God of War II is so shit.
