Go Nintendo picked up a thread posted over on the Capcom forums about Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii and then contacted the Capcom board mod and confirmed that the information is accurate. I'd still like to hear this straight from Capcom, but it's still worth a read.

The game will be split up into different chapters, ala Outbreak, and will let you play as the franchise's main protagonists. It will also feature unlockable characters.

Gameplay will be in third-person, similar to Resident Evil 4, but will also take advantage of "the controller's core features." While we don't know all of the control features of the game, we do know that players will go through the game using the remote to aim in an over-the-shoulder view, according to the site, and that the nunchuk will be used to fire.

Each character will have different weapons and melee attacks and there will also be weapons you can pick-up through-out the levels.

Sounds interesting. I'm especially intrigued to see how well a third-person shooter will work with the remote. Apparently, the game will be at the Tokyo Game Show, so I guess we don't have long to find out. Brian Crecente
