New PS3 Models Hitting By 2008? Duh!

According to Australian "Lifestyle Technology Guide" Smarthouse and their unnamed "inside source", Sony is readying a new model of its PLAYSTATION 3 which will differ from the current version "in the drive bay and in the attachment area." The "Playstation 4", as they call it (how cute!), will feature the same chip set and will include new media manager software.

While we're just about 101% sure that Sony isn't releasing the PlayStation 4 next year, as the company's intention is to squeeze ten years from the PS3, new models of the newest PlayStation are nothing new. We've known about the larger hard drive-enabled PS3 for some time now and learned that Ken "Father of the PlayStation" Kutaragi has delivered proposed changes to the current hardware spec already.

Don't expect PlayStation 4 to show up next year, despite Smarthouse's fanfic of an article, but do expect to see more variations on the PLAYSTATION 3.
