It's like a wildfire of boring information. Games Industry reported that Bandai president Takeo Takasu described Sony's plans for the PS3's spring launch as "impossible." While no publishers prior to Takasu have said something so damning about the PS3 launch any frenzy this story is generating is just pent up angst.
Sony's released a criminally minute amount of information about their next-generation console. There's been a ton of rumors about the console's success or failure in development, different developers have commented on its ease for programming or how difficult it is to program for. While Spring 2006 may have been a launch target at one point for Sony, earlier this week it was pretty much official that the PS3 had missed its spring target. At this point, there's so little concrete information about Sony's PS3 that every possible nugget seems to make its way into the headlines. Sooner or later Sony is going to need to make some headlines of their own. Maybe this month's Game Developer's Conference will be the place.
