Forget cards, cool kids play with pucks. Toy maker Takara Tomy unveiled the next generation of collectable kiddy arcade fighters with Pokémon BATTRIO. Instead of arcane cards, this game features small Poké-pucks! While typical card fighters just involve swiping, BATTRIO has players arrange their pucks on a mat, which then corresponds to the in-game formation. Positioning is everything! One play costs kids ¥100 (US $0.83) and includes a single puck. Takara Tomy boss says that with the popularity of card games last year and with Pokémon being a DS smash hit and has his fingers crossed that this cabinet is popular with children when it's rolled out this summer. That's business speak for saying he hopes Pokémon BATTRIO makes Takara Tomy shit loads of money.
