”PlayStation Store Update: DBZZZZ...
Anime fans? This one's for you! The PlayStation Store update kicks off with the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit, giving fans of convoluted cheeseball fighting dramas something to kill the time before the full game is released in June. The cel shading doesn't stop there, as a trailer for Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm keeps the anime-inspired fighting fun going. A pair of demos for the PS3 and PSP round out the playables, with new content for Rock Band, Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds and Rocketmen keeping those titles fresh. There's new echochrome content, too, but that will be delivered in-game. The full list, and potential Dragon Ball Z discussion, is after the jump! Yay!

Suikoden Coming To PlayStation Store
The latest batch of video game ratings by the ESRB reveals a listing for Konami's classic RPG Suikoden that may indicate the title is destined for a PlayStation Store re-release. Suikoden is rated as released—or to be released—for both the PlayStation 3 and PSP, as with other PSN releases. We don't know when it's coming—PS One Classic releases are few and far between in North America—but it's most likely coming. You may be able to secure a hard copy for the standard asking price in the meantime anyway, so act accordingly.
PlayStation Store Update: Haze!
Haze Demo Hits North American PlayStation Store Tomorrow
Europe is already knee deep in Haze demo enjoyment, but North Americans will get their fill of Ubisoft's first person shooter starting tomorrow. That is, provided that your fill of Haze is the game's first level and a sampling of drop-in, drop-out four-player co-op. It may have the most hyphens of any PS3 game to date. The official PlayStation.blog brings word on what to expect, including voice chat—noteworthy that it's off by default—and the ability to set up private co-op games. Welcome shielding against internet douchebaggery!

Next Week, Europe Gets A Proper PS Store Update
Europeans are sick of crummy PlayStation Store updates, I'm sick of writing about them. So it's lucky for the lot of us that next week, we get a temporary reprieve. To celebrate the PlayStation Day event being held in London on May 6, Sony have promised that next week the European store will be updated not once, but twice. The first round of content, including a Haze demo, will hit on May 6, with a second round (which includes a Race Driver: GRID demo) due on May 8. More »PAL PlayStation Store Update
PlayStation Store Update: echochrome Edition
This week's PlayStation Store store update doesn't shy away from a game release like some people did, bringing the mind-bending puzzler echochrome to North American PlayStation 3s and PSPs. It's the main draw this week, with a Dark Sector demo available for those with tightly shut virtual wallets and a taste for first-person throwing. It's low key, but a whole mess of Rock Band tracks, wallpapers and videos await you after the jump.
PlayStation Store Update: Echoes Of Loco
The second PlayStation Store update to hit for the recently relaunched service is certainly not lacking in style or substance. The weekly batch of new additions kicks off with a pair of promised echochrome demos along with the return of some PSP "classics." The first full album for Rock Band, Judas Priests "Screaming For Vengeance" also debuts. The competition from Activision answers with a misfire of a Def Leppard track pack, begging the questions "Photograph? Live? Why?" We're sticklers for studio recordings!
For the rest of the goodies, including new add-on content for Call of Duty 4 and Eye of Judgment, please continue.

Sony Explains Slow PlayStation Store Speeds
Sony's new PlayStation Store launched this week with a few hiccups like broken images and long load times. And while all of us expect the service to smooth out soon, Sony has addressed the issues on their forums.
We are aware that many of you have experienced delays whilst the PS Store's thumbnail icons are being downloaded. This is a temporary consequence of a new system implementation and high global traffic levels, and will be resolved within the next few days.I think the big mistake was not including the basic thumbnails in the firmware update, forcing users to download them in real time ala any normal web page getting slammed. But I think I can speak for everyone here when I say, broken or not, it's still loads better than the old store.

Sony Talk A Little (Just A Little) On PS3 Movies & TV Service
Sony's Peter Dille has this morning hedged his bets and spoken not only briefly, but around the bush, on the inevitable movies & TV download service for the PS3. While not formally announcing such a program, or hinting at anything like a release timeframe, he does say more info is coming "very soon". More interestingly, he also says:...we'll be offering a video service for PS3 in a way that separates the service from others you've seen or used. Ultimately the goal of the PLAYSTATION Network service will be to break through the overwhelming clutter of digital media to give you the TV, movies and gaming content you want.Dangerous words, Peter. I want a HD, digital library comprised of naught but the complete works of Jake Busey, so will this new store give it to me? Will it?

PlayStation Cards Heading To Retail
Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation Network senior VP Peter Dille dropped in at the official PlayStation Blog to chat about the redesigned store and their commitment to bringing customers what they want, such as th in game XMB (sometime this year). Towards the end of his little talk he did mention some news that should please PS3 owners without credit cards immensely.
And to wrap up with one of the many topics I know you ask about regularly, we are rolling out the PlayStation Cards to retailers nationwide as we speak. They will have the PlayStation Cards in denominations of $20 and $50 starting this spring.I know many of you have been hunting for them since that tease back in December, but now they are finally really on their way. Patience, folks! These things take time! It's not like the Wii or Xbox 360 had these things ready within months of launch...oh wait.

PSP Store Also Gets A Cheeky Makeover
Not to be outdone by the PS3 Store redesign, the PC/PSP Store has also had a quick facelift. Those looking for radical improvements (like the ditching of the download tool) to the way things are done will be disappointed, as the improvements are purely cosmetic, but hey, since the store worked just fine before that's hardly the single biggest issue facing the world today.Rock Band DLC Brings More Classic Rawk And PS3 IOUs
For those who are looking to drop some of your extra dollars—raining from the trees and flooding your gutters—on DLC, enjoy this week's Rock Band update. The Classic Rock pack includes:
"Call Me" by Blondie (master)
"Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd (master)
"Message in Bottle" by the Police (master)
Also of note, Harmonix reports that PlayStation 3 owners should get these new tracks this Thursday when the Sony's store comes back online, along with any other back tracks that have been missing from their store.

PS Store Down All Day Tomorrow
Just a reminder, the Playstation Network Store will be down from 8 am to 9 pm US Pacific Time (11 am to midnight, US Eastern, and 9 am to 10 pm Crecente). This is for the widely anticipated update to the Playstation Store.
So all you unemployed gamers and kids playing hooky, don't start raining ZOMG WAT HAPPEND TO PSN messages on us. Besides, everyone should be doing their taxes.
How much worse can I fuck things up this weekend ...
New/More Screens Of The New PlayStation Store
Courtesy of SCE Japan, here's a few more shots of what the new PlayStation Store will look like when it goes live next Tuesday (April 15). Well, what it'll look like for Japan. The rest of you/us, go right ahead and in your mind's eye substitute those indecipherable lines into something like "Latest Demos", it'll be a little more helpful.
