Monthly figures for US video game console sales are just around the corner, with the NPD Group expected to hand out their monthly report card any day now. Wedbush Morgan analyst and frequent tag Michael Pachter has made his predictions about how the hardware field will play out, with the Nintendo DS taking the lead.
On the console front, the Pach has the Wii outselling the PLAYSTATION 3 by a four-to-one ratio, putting Wii sales at 400,000 compared to a (seemingly optimistic) 100,000 for Sony's competitor.
Pachter also reiterates his prediction that Sony may drop the price of the PS3 this summer—much to the dismay of SCEA PR, I assume—as well as price reductions for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 before the holidays. We'll only need to wait three more days to see just how clear Mike's crystal ball is.
