In an interview with NamcoBandai's (I always thought it was two words, but w/e) director of business development Zach Karlsson, game site Next Generation reports:
This year NamcoBandai has Hellgate: London, a PC RPG cum, shooter that it is co-publishing that with EA. Given the company's newfound penchant for cross-platform development, I ask if an Xbox 360 version is likely. Karlsson won't confirm it, but he admits that it's highly unlikely that such a notion is far from the company's planning calendar.
So sit tight until there's a formal announcement and we get this BandaiNamco/Bandai Namco nonsense sorted out.
Hellgate 360 Bound? [Next-Gen]

RUMOR: this news isn't going to change anybody's life, weather or not its true.
Yeah for cross platform development. The day NamcoBandai announces Ace Combat on the 360 is the day Sony loses me for this gen.
I was really looking forward to this game on PC but having seen the gameplay videos I'm left thinking that they'd be better off making a movie using their excellent CGI people.
If all the best PC games keep getting ported to 360 I'm never going to end up botering to upgrade my graphcs card.
sounds cool. The 360 needs more MMOs/Rpgs.
"a PC RPG cum, shooter..."
Can someone tell me what the word "cum" means in this sentence? I only know one definition to that word, and it doesn't really fit here. Though, if you remove the comma...
Also, I hear this game is the "spiritual predecessor" (or w/e) of Diablo 2. I don't understand how this can be, seeing that Hellgate is futuristic, is first person, and has guns. Anybody else not comfortable with that statement?
@Briz9:
It CAN be played in first person. It can also be played 3rd person ala Diablo. It seems to mainly be a preference issue for the player. Shooting guns? 1st person probably best. Swinging swords? 3rd person I'd wager.
It should mean combined with, but the comma does throw this off a bit.
Yeah, I wouldn't agree with that either, so a few people who worked at Blizzard left and Flagship studios is what became of it, It's hardly the "spiritual predecessor".
Besides all that, it's EA and NamcoBandai ffs.
Remember kids, EA is evil and NamcoBandai created Portable Island.
Ha ha. You said 'cum shooter'.
This..would change my life, because it would save me some money on buying a graphics card..i love the 360..it just got connan not too long ago.. there were rumors of war hammer online running on a 360 back stage and now this?..and also i need a reason i bought my ps3..cause im running out of them.
WTF is a RPG cum shooter? Do you get more experience points for location landed and distance? Do you lose points for unwanted pregnancy?
LMAO Yes! The cum thing through me off by a long shot, never ever should that word be used then expect me to read farther or not induce vomit...
Are you guys seriously that uneducated to not know what cum actually means. This is sad...
Anyway I said that I would buy whatever console landed Hellgate:London so I guess it's 360 for me. I just really love the way this game looks. Addictive as hell-would be a blast over Live.
Actually, I think this game would be perfect on the 360. Add Live support combined with a decent online lobby and is so...so..neat.
*runs off giggling*
Look, if it says "cum" and people read it as "cum" then it's going to throw people off regardless of "education". It's a word used primarily in situations quite different then gaming.
"Are you guys seriously that uneducated to not know what cum actually means. This is sad..."
The only place I've seen that word in that context is "suma cum laude" or "cum laude". In that context, I know it's Latin. But having never, ever seen the word "cum" any where else, especially in a description of a video game, the Latin meaning did not come to mind. Especially the way they used it "RPG cum, shooter...". That doesn't even make sense if you use it's Latin meaning.

Short version, originally orgasm was come / came. =P
That quote is full of pretentious language.
cum, penchant, 'it's highly unlikely that such a notion'.
That entire paragraph could have been said with one sentence. Someone is getting paid by the word I think, and penchant is easily a 10 cent word.
This game is more of an MMO.
Regardless of "education", the word was not grammatically used correctly, as one pointed out. "PC RPG-cum-shooter" would be correct.
@ raveness:
""PC RPG-cum-shooter" would be correct."
but we would all still giggle at the cum-shooter part
I knew exactly what was meant, doesn't mean I didn't have a laugh about it first!
As for the game, this is good news. I wasn't too sure my poor laptop would be able to run it. The 6800 just doesn't seem to cut it with these new games!
It's the spiritual SUCCESSOR to Diablo because it features customizable stats, skills, and equipment and randomly-generated dungeons.
It looks like Hellgate: London is going to be the best rogue-like ever and MIGHT have the kind of influence that I wish Diablo had had. For all the hack-and-slash action-RPG Diablo clones, I don't think any other game has integrated randomly-generated levels the way Diablo did.
Just think of the possibilities...randomly-generated levels for Counter Strike, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell. Come to think of it, the random missions in X-Com really haven't been matched by any clone either; Jagged Alliance and Silent Storm both used pre-designed maps. This is a game design concept that has been sorely under-developed. I've ranted about this before, but I think its time is coming. If this game is a success, we're going to see a lot of randomly-generated maps in future games.
