Telecom giant NTT, Hitachi and the country's biggest travel agency have joined up to promote Akihabara as a global tourist destination. Tokyo's electronic district is well known for its maid cafes, capsule toy machines and used video game shops. Say bye-bye to everything that makes Akihabara interesting and get ready for a sanitized Disney version. Times Square, anyone?
