There is a ton of cool stuff over at the Video Game Memorabilia Museum, including this Oscar-esque bronze Mario statue. Normally adorning a marble base, this statue is, according to its owner, normally only given out in rare circumstances. These include "Nintendo Long Service Staff" awards, for those in the employ of the company for more than twenty years, and worldwide competition winners. Obviously, the latter is the easier of the two.
The owner also states that the statues are made by none other than R.S Owens, the Chicago based manufacturer responsible for fabricating the famous Oscar statue. They also make Emmys, Clios, MTV Video Music Awards and the NFL's MVP trophy, but those just don't have the same allure.
If I were to ever beat anyone to death with a blunt object, I pray to the Nintendo gods that I get to do it with a bronze Mario statue. Wait. What did I just say?

That'd make a hell of a forehead imprint. You know, on your corpse.
That's pretty awesome. This would make the perfect award for the AIAS game awards. It surely beats those crappy GPhoria and Spike VGA award shows...
Lovely bronzework.
It's nice to see when a company (especially a large corporation) recognizes those individuals who should be recognized. I once worked at a little sculpting house where one of our main clients was Warner Bros. They had us make a 1' award featuring the WB frog that would ultimately get brassed and given to members of accomplished departments throughout WB. Credit where credit's due is always a good mantra to live by.

Heh... like in Phoenix Wright.
...or like Clue. "I'd like to make a declaration: Prof. McWhertor with the Mario club."
Wonder if they give these out to NOA employees as well...
Isn't that a rare decoration you can get in Animal Crossing? Possibly an inside joke.
Is it me or does Mario look... well a bit fat. Almost like it's the devil spawn of Mikey Mouse and Mario...
Despite its relative shortness, that's a hell of a murder weapon right there, provided that it's entirely solid. Mario's pointy finger could smash through any skull, pickaxe-style, any day.
How many HRA points is that worth?
