Splinter Cell Producer: Ports Compromise Quality

Ports? Wretched things. All that sameness, with things looking and being the same despite a game appearing on different consoles. Terrible business. Mathieu Ferland agrees, and he should know - he works for Ubisoft:

Developing a game for multiple consoles is not so difficult but it requires certain compromises, usually quality compromises.

Mathieu has worked on the last three Splinter Cells, and three Rainbow Six games before that. And, like I said, works for Ubisoft. Can't think of a man, or a company, better equipped to talk about the inherent shittiness of ports, though perhaps he could have made the irony of the comments slightly more obvious. Because...that's what you were gunning for, right? If not, I'm going to need to shake you, Mathieu. Shake you like a naughty British nanny.
