You know how much we love those wacky folks over at the NPD Group and their shot-in-the-dark game sales numbers. NPD says that January had a drop of five person compared to the same month last year. Despite the slump, Microsoft managed to sell 250,000 Xbox 360s, bringing their total U.S. sales of the next-gen console to 850,000.
The NPD Group also points out that the PSP in fact beat the DS in January sales by 20,00o or so.
Of course since the NPD Group doesn't include figures from companies like Wal-Mart, we can pretty much through this stuff out the window.
