Having decided European shafts could take no more shafting, Microsoft have confirmed with CVG that their video marketplace content for Xbox Live will be hitting the old world later this year. Only catch? It's a gradual roll-out, with the service getting a staggered launch across the continent. Xbox Live general manager JJ Richards:
It's going to be a country at a time. We're going to have to get it right for each country; the rights, as well as the operation and localisation for each country. That will be our implementation rollout. So rather than hold everybody up we'd rather turn on France when we get enough French content and French rights, we'll turn on the UK when we get UK, we'll turn on Italy when we get Italy. No word on who's getting it first . As far as Australia, that other other PAL market, Microsoft would only offer the standard "We've not made any announcements regarding Video Marketplace in Australia".
