Touch-screen? So 2005. Motion-sensing? Pfft, shit's old. In 2007, Nintendo are all 'bout the sliding. Slide Adventure Magkid, which is due on the DS in Japan on August 2, is a platformer that's going to play a little like Kirby, with your wee Magkid sticking himself onto the bad guys in order to get hold of their powers.

The sliding gimmick comes in the form of the game's peripheral, which plugs into the DS's GBA port and attaches to a flat surface. You then slide your DS around on the table, and your little guy reacts. Which all sounds a little too convoluted for my liking. What, touch-screen, rumble and a mic isn't enough for some people, they got to have sliding as well? Luke Plunkett
