I haven't played Rule Of Rose. I didn't really want to, either. And now I won't be able to. Such is life.
The game copped quite a bit of flak over the weekend, and was the subject of a pointless "debate" on major Aussie morning program "Sunrise" last week.
Red Ant, the local distributors for the title, announced today that they wouldn't even try and release it in Australia. Which means they knew the game wouldn't receive certification by the OFLC (Australia's classification board), who are traditionally weak and entirely malleable in the face of media mobilisation, and didn't even bother. That's either lazy or just plain sad. Probably both.
Still, it could have been worse. It could have been a game somebody actually cared about.
