Lucasarts Sues Digg

Oh man, The Dig making headline news? Best day ever. Pity it's over stupid legal shenanigans.

Lucasarts think that Digg - you know, the untreated effluent of the internet - have a name that's a little too similar to their 1995 adventure game The Dig. Dig being an uncommon word, not at all associated with the act of digging or indeed of being "dug".

THE DIGG mark is confusingly similar in sound, meaning, and appearance to the Opposer's THE DIG mark. The Applicant's registration and use of the DIGG Mark would likely create confusion, mistake, or deception in the minds of prospective purchasers as to the origin or source of the Opposer's Goods associated with THE DIG Mark.

Couldn't agree more. I've only used Digg once, when I was wasted and googling for Robert Patrick voice-over work. At the time, I felt confused, mistaken and just a little deceived. I feel victimised by said deceipt. Take em to the cleaner's, George.

Oh, and George? I kid. Serious, stop this. Go do something constructive, like telling Lucasarts to MAKE ANOTHER DIG GAME. And not a stinkin' FPS, either - I want both pointing AND clicking. And Robert Patrick. God help me you'd better get Robert Patrick.
