Ah, look, something new! Famitsu have got hold of a ton of new screenshots for upcoming Japanese 360 RPG/small-squad tactics title Operation Darkness, which sees you take command of a sexy young British special forces unit tasked with assassinating Hitler. Except you can use magic. To fight vampires. And werewolves. And zombies! If this tickles your proverbial fancy (reminder: Nazis, zombies, vampires, werewolves), it also appears to be import-friendly, with a healthy dose of the English language visible in these screens. Pip-pip!

I remember playing this at the TGS last year, or was it last last year.
It was rather odd and not too polished back then, but any new game is a good thing so looking foward to seeing how it has improved.
Yeah looking forward to killing some Ombies :)
A bit strange, but if done right could work. Very interesting...
Who came up with this idea? He deserves a statue in his honour..
Famitsu also has a cool new preview of Lost Odyssey. Gonna be a good year for RPGs on 360 :)
There's not a single word in the description that doesn't make me tear up with joy and excitement. Even if it sucks, it will be a quite an accomplishment to make a bad game with Nazis, Zombies, werewolves, magic and vampires.
Looks a bit brown. And grey. They obviously know their WWII games.
Any RPG announced for the 360 is good news.
Operation Darkness FTW !
lol is this how the japanese think ww2 happened
interesting game though, need to take a closer look sometime
Hey Witz, you got a 360?
Kind of reminds me of the PS2 game, Ring of Red, I think it was called.
I burned many hours playing that game.
Of course, it was between that, or Madden and Tekken Tag *barf*
The idea is awesome, but looking at the clustered interface makes me cringe. Why, oh why, do japenese developers still think "tons of buttons == tons of gameplay".
@ittekimasu: Silly, isn't it? Good thing us Americans know what really happened in this epic struggle between agent BJ Blazkowicz, experimental Nazi zombies with guns in their chests and Hitler's robosuit.
If we keep seeing titles like this for the 360, I'm going to have to start taking a serious look at it. I'd previously written it off because the bulk of it's titles (shooters, sports, racing games and assorted multiplayer jazz) just aren't my cup of tea.
What do you mean "pip pip"?! Fuck you Mr. fat and lazy.
I would sacrifice my first born child for a Ring of Red sequel for the ps3/360. Realistic mech fighting in an alternate history FTW.
This one's on the slideshow.
Sounds like fighting the Fifth Column in City of Heroes.
Man, those were the days. Fighting Nazis, with vampires and werewolves.
Nazis, zombies, vampires, and werewolves? Can somebody say Hellsing?
Still, sounds pretty cool.
Nazis did have werewolves, kind of... the Nazi guerilla fighters who fought against Allied occupation shortly after the fall of Germany were called "Werwolf" (or sometimes "Wehrwolf", a play off the name of the army, the "Wehrmacht").
But seriously, the whole WWII game genre is getting really old now. Even with magic.
@Sabre_Justice: Man, I loved those guys. I know the Council is *technically* a splinter group of the 5th, but it's just not the same.
I recall hearing the devs claiming it was a preplanned change, but the whole thing just smacked of PR.
Could the plot sound any more like Hellsing(The Dawn)?
Looking forward to see what becomes of this.
I just wish they would hurry up with all these "RPG's" for the 360...
The many announcements of various titles had me enamored enough to buy this unit...but now it sits collecting dust, waiting for any good games to play (that is not an FPS)
After my 10th First Person experience that lasted me all of 10 hours...I am so done with these types of games for a while...
Oblivion was great, but glitchy and just got repetitive...as most RPG's do...but, if I had some variety, then I would be a happy camper..
Well, the trusty PC is still pumping (With LOTRO and NWN2 to occupy my time for now...)
But, HURRY UP already!
@CrimsonPhantom: I loved Ring of Red as well, and wholeheartedly agree that there should be a sequl for the 360. As for Operation Darkness, this had better come to North America.
Theres already an RPG like this. Its called Shadow Hearts. The second one takes place right before WWII, if Im not mistaken.
Plus, contains a vampire! (who was in the first game, but has lost his memory and thinks his powers are 'super powers' and believes he is a superhero)
@Revenge_of_Nekojin: Yep.
What is the chance of this. I spend a whole day four days ago looking for this game while screaming "Nazi zombie werewolf anime turn-based strategy" and only could think of Hellsing. Now it is just staring me in the face...
What?!
