In a masterful display of French indignance, Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has thumbed his nose at E3 (and by extension YOU, AMERICA). He doesn't need you anymore. You or your stinking trade show.
E3 is now only for the US, so we wanted to do something to help everybody see our products. So we decided to do E3 but in France and call it Ubidays.
Around 600 European journos and industry types are now milling about Paris for the two-day event, which will be showing off the pick of Ubisoft's roster for the rest of the year. So it's exactly what Crecente went to a couple weeks back, then, just in France.
Still, Guillemot's sentiments are noteworthy: that's a fairly public dressing-down for the "new" E3 from one of the industry's biggest players, and it's probably one every publisher and developer outside the US is nodding their heads in agreement with. And not just nodding. They're probably murmuring "yes, quite", too.
E3 US-only, says Ubi-chief [Eurogamer]
