Donkey Kone's Banana Boats

Ice-cream trucks? So 1985. Kids these days, they need a hook if you're going to sell them sweet, cold snacks from a moving van. Greensleeves doesn't cut it with the tech-savvy youth of 2007. They need videogame characters. And not just any videogame character: thinly-veiled copyright violations.

That's not to discredit the quality of the goods on sale: an official Donkey Kone Banana Boat sure does sound yum. Luke Plunkett

    I always see Flintstone characters on ice cream vans. Badly drawn and typically breaking copyright, of course.

    I actually recall various ice cream trucks ten or so years ago selling Super Mario ice creams. It was basically a white Mario face with a pink bubblegum nose. Ah, those were the days. =/

    Maybe that's an unrelated gorilla that just happened to have stolen that cone from an actual donkey.
    Gorillas can be aggressive when provoked, and he might have just seen Shrek III, which didn't do Donkey any favors.

    He could be a victim of circumstance!

    Besides,a coupla free cones and nobody saw nothin'

    Anybody see those "Calvin" stickers from Calvin & Hobbes where he's peeing on one hick symbol or another? Those are blatant copyright ripoffs, don't buy them!!!

    I love how Donkey Kone looks vaguely fearful of the ice cream cone he's holding.

    In my area, we get at least five ice cream trucks a day on my street - all blaring this horrible canned electronic music. I never thought I'd say this, but I've grown to hate ice cream trucks.

    Has anyone noticed how damn expensive the ice cream truck has gotten? 50 cents gets you nowhere these days. ...anyway onto the Donkey Kone, love it, but how funny would it be if Nintendo sued? It would be the like in the 80's when universal sued over the name Kong.

    Almost all the ice cream trucks in Toronto have the Donkey Cone on the side. (I'm assuming that truck is from the Tee Dot).

    And poor Donkey Cone does look a bit scared of his cone, maybe he's worried it'll be a bit TOO delicious.
