Falling somewhere between death and taxes on the predictability scales comes this week British charts: a Harry Potter movie turns up, a Harry Potter game goes to the top spot. On the bright side, Resident Evil 4 made a good showing, as did the Darkness, which managed to be the #1 game not endorsed by some kind of thespian.
1 Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix
2 More Brain Training From Dr Kawashima
3 Shrek The Third
4 The Darkness
5 Resident Evil 4
6 Wii Play
7 Rainbow Six Vegas
8 Forza Motorsport 2
9 Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
10 Dr Kawashima's Brain Training

I have a nasty confession... I did buy the Harry game lol and /cough I enjoyed it /blushes
Also still play Dr Kawashima's Brain Training, great game and im not supprised about rainbow six.
Which versions of the games are these? I know rainbow six is the PS3 version, but darkness?
Hey if it got Tycho to scream out spells while wearing a scarf in his living room, why wouldn't half of Britain buy it?
I hear the game itself is very average, but the Wiiwand is pretty cool.
Hey, what if in a few years after all the books and movies are done with, they put some actual effort into making a GOOD Harry Potter game which encompasses the entire series? I've seen some decent potential in the games I've seen, the GBA game looked like a cool isometric RPG (though it was probably crap).
The Darkness will be the 360 version since its not on PS3 until next week(ish)
@Kyle81: Multiformat I believe, so all formats count.
Shrek being at no.3 is depressing but other than that a reasonable top 10
Tesco , one of the UKs biggest supermarket chains has been selling Rainbow 6 (360) for £19 (normal retail £40) so that may have helped its sales.
Finally got round to buying a copy myself last weekend and have been kicking myself for not getting it sooner ( though after GRAW I lost some of my appetite for that sort of game).
Rainbow6 only 7th? The ps3 version is near enough sold out everywhere.
Plus the 360 version is 20quid everywhere at mo
@jip100: that is true but the other titles sell more, and dont worry, europe has very big software sales so we are talking about many copies.
"The Darkness" is really a great-looking game (but, then, it is by Starbreeze, so what did you expect?"). Anybody who likes Overlords might like it. It's full of dark humor and really fun to play as one in league with the "dark side". Hope that the PS3 version does the game justice (but, again, it was developed by Starbreeze, so it should look just as stunning).
Completing The Darkness last weekend, I have to agree on it being a wonderful game. Here's hoping for all the sales in the world.
Nice to see RE4 hanging in these, but what's with the movie tie-ins Britain? All that brain training not having an effect?
@nya-chama: Apparently not.
I've been trying to get a copy of RE4 all week, and it's sold out. Game told me yesterday that they'd had a delivery that morning, of one copy, sheeesh.
I do live in Wales though.
@Swegamer: beeing a swedish game :D
