I'm really opposed to these CE or LE versions of games b/c they just show the industry that we are yet again willing to pay $10 more for games. The base price for AAA titles next gen will be $70. That being said, I want the Bioshock LE and I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to stop myself from going for this one.

Quick question about the game itself, from anyone who knows. Is the limited edition for 360, PC, or both? I don't have a 360, but I want a figure *drool*

It's for both, only the 360 version is ten dollars more, for obvious reasons.

All around, good news. But why would they limit the collectors editions to a few countries, when it's being released more or less globally?

because right now it's a gamestop/eb exclusive and not all countries have stores in the chain. As far as I know, they're working on a solution.

Beatmania IIDX 13 DistorteD LE is 14,800yen....which is about 130 dollarsish in USA....so USA still have it cheap.

Games alone can go up to like 8800 yen in Japan (FFXII) or 11,000yen is(Sangokushi / Romance of the Three Kingdoms)

Oh well, guess I'll reluctantly go back to EB to get Bioshock.

I usually buy my games at the JB on the level above - they've got a much bigger range, they get games earlier, they don't open the games beforehand and their staff are actually helpful.

@byrontendo: Yep yep! I go in EB far too often as it is (this being once every couple of weeks, never to buy, though) because frankly going in a shop you've boycotted until they get some staff that aren't wankers and don't keep asking you if you want the insurance is Not The Done Thing. (When I got FFXII, they asked me three times. I should have cancelled the sale after the third time, but instead I just go to the JB.)

I'm curious to find out how GAME does: they're opening down from the EB, and while I've heard bad things it's possible they'll take retail a little more seriously.

Can't see EB surviving much longer anyways: their target market is casual gamers, and gaming is only going to get more important to stores like JB and K-Mart. I'm expecting the DVD chains to start carrying games within the next ten years; I can see supermarkets carrying games as they currently do with DVDs. They probably can't compete against that. And the hardcore gamers and otaku think they're morons and are trying to bypass them, so if they try and refocus they're going to run up against all this loathing.
