I think videogames need some positive responses and news from wherever, so this is not all that bad. But it still could render a ridiculous image of Nintendo to all the hardcore fans and gamers.

I know a few girls who game myself, and they never worry about going online or talking about it (No one has to know you're a girl after all). But then again, they don't exactly fall into the Mean Girls category.

Ah...it's another marketing ploy which I'm sure will get some type of good response somewhere. I've also noticed a scary trend lately that most of the marketing-of-video-games-to-females revolves around the portable gaming device towards "image-obsessed, whiny, teenage girls"(I liked the way you put it). Perhaps that's just me, however.

Though, I wouldn't mind having a blinged out Pink DS for kicks. That would be, like, totally rad.

As for the actual content: Non-gaming women do love the DS and Wii; they even find it.. interesting. Not as interesting as a Nora Roberts book or Kathy Griffin, but interesting.

If Nintendo really wants to sell Wiis to them, all they need to do is make a Wii Remote powered version of Tetris for the Wii.
