Of course you are. But first: sit down. Calm down. And nibble on some salt. Because this is far from confirmed. Last week, the Rumor Reporter said something about a fifth Monkey Island game being kicked around the top brass at Lucasarts:
...the fifth Monkey Island is coming. I know some of the guys who worked on the music compositions for the original PC classics, and they say that it is currently being planned amidst rumors. However, LucasArts has so many things on its belt right now, including a Wii title that has yet to be named. Don't expect any revitalizations of its classic graphic adventures until 2008 at the earliest.
Now, that's a rumour. Nothing more. And a vague one at that. But not three days later, series fansite World of Monkey Island received an email from Sam & Max and former Lucasarts demi-god, Steve Purcell. It contained three very snazzy pieces of concept art for a project "in no way connected to any existing or canceled piratey project".
Very vague, thread-bare, even, so make of this what you will. I will make myself a little sandcastle of hope, and within endure the siege of longing that threatens to overcome me should this prove to be baloney.
