Activision CEO Confirms Nintendo Guitar Hero

We already (kinda) knew it was coming, but Activision CEO Mike Griffiths has gone and confirmed it. Speaking during their Q3 2007 Preliminary Financial Results Conference Call (*phew*), he says:

The key difference in our strategy versus the prior cycle, is that in addition to full support on Sony and Microsoft platforms, we will aggressively target the Nintendo platforms consistent with our multi-platform strategy and Nintendo's expected growth. In fiscal 2008, we will double our offerings on the DS and the Wii, including Spider-Man, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero.

He doesn't mention which platform, so while the Wii is the most likely target, don't put it past them to release a tappy little DS version either. No dates or other information yet, but that can't be too far off. So, whaddya think? Logical extension of the brand name, or shameless milking of an over-extended franchise?
