The latest Weekly Famitsu reveals that the long-running Chunsoft-developed series of "sound novel" adventures will see a PLAYSTATION 3 entry before the end of the year. Imabikisou, it's called, will bring the text-reading genre—quite popular in Japan, I hear—to non-game hungry PS3 owners in the fall, telling the horrific tale of recreational drug use gone wrong.
1UP has more in-depth details on the Sega-published game, as well as its Saturn and Super Nintendo predecessors. Surprisingly enough to someone who likes his reading and gaming well segregated, Chunsoft's previous sound novel Machi apparently ranked 5th in a Famitsu reader poll of all-time favorites. Wait till those Japanese get a load of the text-rendering capabilities of the Cell! Mind boggling.
I expect we'll see weekly sales of the console well into the twelve-to-thirteen thousands when Imabikisou arrives. Yeah, I'm being bold.
