When Yoshi's Island 2 was announced at E3, our technology editor Joel Johnson was excited. How excited was he? Well, we don't want to be graphic, so let's just say we've never seen anyone counter-gravitationally hover six inches above the floor by pulling themselves aloft by their own turgid masculinity before. Ever since then, we've vowed to report as much Yoshi's Island 2 news as we can. If we can consistently keep the blood drained from Joel's head, there's a pretty good chance we'll make it through the quarter without being fired.
That explained, Kikizo has posted up a hands-on of their time with YI2. Their impressions are extremely positive, enthusing about the gorgeous graphics and great gameplay that make this a loyal follow-up to the original classic. As we all saw in the trailer, this time there are three babies to take care of (Mario, Peach and Donkey Kong), each with his or her own super power. We can even expect some novelty levels taking advantage of the dual screen: in one, a rolling spike ball a screen and a half tall chases Yoshi, crushing anything caught beneath it. Bring it on! - Florian Eckhardt
