Next Generation has some information up on what we can expect at the Revolution launch, including the news that 20 launch titles should be available right out of the gate.
NOA's George Harrison on the importance of a strong game lineup at launch: "You've got to deliver software, not just at launch, but you've got to deliver software in the first six to nine months after launch. It has to be solid software. In GameCube, we didn't have that, we had kind of a drought for six months after it launched. By that time your reputation starts to solidify and it's hard to reverse that after awhile."
Another interestibng detail from the interview is that Nintendo intends to market the Revolution not just with gameplay footage, but with footage of people playing the game. An excellent decision, given the entire draw of the Revolution is in the innovative new controller: the graphics won't stack up to the PS3 or the 360 on their own, but watching somebody having a truly excellent time, swinging an imaginary sword in the living room or shooting at Metroids? That's what makes the Revolution special. After all, no one bought Guitar Hero after seeing a gameplay video online: it's all about watching someone else burning down the house with their mock guitar.
