I'm a fan of mod chips. Not for their more nefarious purposes, mind, but as an Australian they're the only way we get to play a lot of games on-time/at all. Plus, they're entirely legal here, which helps. But not everyone shares our utopian ideals on the subject (well...not anyone). Nintendo Europe certainly don't.
They've put a notice up on their website warning against the evils of mod chips, stating they're illegal, void your warranty, will break your console and (probably) claim your firstborn.
Oh poppycock. You know what, Nintendo? You bring this on yourselves. If PAL owners didn't have to wait months (Super Paper Mario) or even years (Animal Crossing) to play your games "officially", they wouldn't chip their consoles in the first place.
