One of my favorite weekly featurettes, Gamespot's Rumor Control, has word of a possible leak from a former Nintendo employee about the Revolution. The ex-employee says that the Revolution will have wireless controllers that are pressure-sensitive (which we
ve reported before). The controllers will allow games to include a new level of force feedback, according to the former employee. The Revolution will also include a more advanced form of voice control and wireless headsets.
The big surprise is the claim that the Revolution will feature free online service that will be superior to Xbox Live. The tattler cryptically describes this as "an Internet service" that'll let you check your e-mail, play game demos, and read a Web-only magazine akin to Nintendo Power.
Gamespot had no take on how real the rumors are, and neither do I, other than to say I can t imagine anything this big will be unveiled at E3. The lack of Nintendo publicity for their event is the tip-off.
