Hope you had a good holiday! We spent the day watching westerns — can't get more American than that! Watched Rio Bravo, The Good The Bad & The Ugly, The Shooting and Red River. I'd never seen The Shooting. It's with Jack Nicholson and directed by Monte Hellman. Super boring flick! Kinda surprised, 'cause I really loved the other Monte Hellman movie I saw, Two Lane Blacktop with James Taylor and Dennis Wilson. Mini-Bash really liked the Sergio Leone film. I kept telling him that's what Texas, my home state, looked like a long time ago. (When he's older, I'll let him know that it was actually shot in Spain.) For dinner, we ate Korean BBQ and then set off fireworks. Not really all that "American," but it was the best I could do.
