Entering November (as we will tomorrow) ushers in the holiday season and from now until the new year consumers have the privelege of choice at the game counter. The long-awaited expansion to City of Heroes, City of Villains is finally shipping this week. For a once-over of City of Villains and some other titles to look forward to this week check the jump.
Tops on my list this week, is the City of Villains expansion, if for no reason other than I can't wait to see what Marvel characters the playerbase can dupe this time. Kidding aside, CoV fits perfectly beside City of Heroes in the MMOG world. Track reviews of CoV here.

Before anyone groans, yes Call of Duty: Big Red One is another World War II shooter. But Call of Duty ushered in the next level of immersive World War II shooters, so it earned its props here. CoD:BRO is out this week on GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
Timed with the release of the Episode III DVD is the release of Star Wars Battlefront II for the PSP, PlayStation 2, PC and Xbox. The third-person shooter pits gamers in huge battles from the Star Wars universe. Battles can take place in space, now, in addition to the on-foot action implemented in the first. Every time I see Star Wars space battles, I long for the old X-Wing and Tie Fighter games.

Last, but definitely not least on the list is Guitar Hero, not to be confused with Guitar Freaks, one of the games that kept arcades in America from being totally dead (DDR was another one, but the home versions have been available for a long time). The $69.99 version of Guitar Hero (picture), which is a game similar to Freaks, comes with the guitar accessory to finger out the tunes.
