Capcom Chief Financial Officer Kazuhiko Abe's a tough man to please. He wasn't happy with a $599 PlayStation 3. He's not even happy with a $499 PlayStation 3. No, Abe reckons that before the year's out the PS3 will be even lower.

The number of PS2 users is still growing and a shift to the PS3 is on the back burner. But, the price has been cut once and it is likely to be cut again towards the end of the year. I expect the (PS3's) installed base to grow gradually.

This makes Abe about the 117th Japanese executive to chime in about a PS3 price-cut this week. What, are they holding some kinda inter-office betting pool or something? I want in. Bet the stakes are mad high.
