The current Virtual Console lineup is good, don't get me wrong. But with Neo Geo games on the horizon, it's about to get badass. Speaking with IGN, SNK USA President Ben Herman has announced some equally badass details on how Neo Geo games are going to be distributed over the service:
- Games will be priced "a little above" SNES titles (which are $8...so expect around $10)
- They're going to be releasing a couple of games a month over the next year. So, roughly, 24 games. Which leaves plenty of room for sequels/franchises.
- Initial games won't be Metal Slug or King of Fighters; they're easily available now, they want to release some stuff that's been a bit more elusive.
-
Other highlights include a desire to launch VC games simultaneously across all regions, and that we should start seeing the first Neo Geo games in mid-summer. As a boy who didn't even dare to dream of owning a Neo Geo, I can't. Hardly. Wait.
