Stringer Looking To "Refine" PS3 Costs

Howard Stringer? Not a dope. He knows the PS3 has a bad smell about it, knows it's not selling too well, knows the Wii is kicking its ass. Also knows the man on the street wants it cheaper before he picks one up. And has told the Financial Times as much

Nintendo Wii has been a successful enterprise, and a very good business model, compared with ours . . . because it's cheaper. That [price cuts] is what we are studying at the moment. That's what we are trying to refine.

Doesn't come much more authoritatively than that. They guy runs Sony. Think he knows what's going on. Comment like that makes it a lock that a price-cut is coming this year, all that's left now is for us to kick back and wait for Pachter to let us know exactly when.
