Shot this footage of upcoming MMO Monster Hunter Frontier at the recent MH Festa in Osaka. Actually looks interesting. Well, somewhat.

A video of a video! COOL!
The first half of that looked like complete rehash. The lobby stuff was really neat, but I think I was half expecting all new content. How far in development is this?
Looks so cool. Is it coming to NA?
Please release it to north america.
@bird1988:
Dunno. Eventually, maybe! But, I believe it will be out in Japan this summer. Wiki entry
I thought they were making a next-gen game.
@ashcraft: Yikes, that soon? That dashed my hopes of a next-gen facelift and a whole new world. Oh well, at least I have the Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle version...
If this plays better than PSU I want this in America now.
This is strictly for MH fans. It's all about the new armor, the new weapons, the new monsters, the new zones. It's like trying to explain the Pokemon craze to someone that hasn't played it.
With that said, can we get that on PS3? I'm tired of jumping through hoops to get current games to run on my rig. Then again...when MHF 2nd comes out in September, I'll be in that one for a few hundred hours so I'm not going to care.
If you want MH on PS3, just wait for MH3. It's already been announced, although that's all there is for it, an announcement.
It looks the same as the the original except there are more people in the towns. Does it have a huge persistent world that you can freely roam about? If not why is this one being called an MMO? I also can't believe that they're just reusing a lot of the same monsters that any fan of Monster Hunter has already killed a hundred times. This is really disappointing.
Go to point 'A', kill monster 'B' (most likely a dragon) and get item 'C' - now with friends!
Is the combat click/auto based or is it real-time action?
Real time action, get trampled if you dont dodge.
Its one of the best games ever for kicking the crap out of large things while looking good.
Although real good guys at the game dont even wear armor and just use some really rare weapon instead.
The game is for those who want to test their own abilities and such.
The amount of effort you put in will really reflect upon your character.
Its not a game for everyone, but it does have a large fanbase.
First order of business, and I hope Kotaku doesn't mind...

We're gathering signatures to coerce capcom into bringing it over to the States for sure. I scincerely hope we can do this.
Second order of business, all the videos they played are up on the jaoanese monster hunter website in much better quality.. Mostly because they're not a recording of the videos.
fromt he looks of things, the town mode will now support hudreds of people walking around and since the core of the game is the 4 man hunting teams you'll form teams and head out from there. I hope they add some interesting features like competitive hunting where more than one team is on a map after the same creature.
