WoW Breaks 9 Million Subscribers

south_park_wow.jpgBlizzard announced today that WoW has broken the 9 million subscriber mark. That's a lot of people—numbers surpassing measurements of Olympic-sized swimming pools and football fields. And for anyone who can't put such a large number in perspective, we'll do a little math equation:

9,000,000 x $14.99 = CRAZYMONEYBLIZZARDCOULDBUYYOURTESTICLESEVENFORAGIRL

On a more cynical note, the Burning Crusade Expansion, though an enormous success, didn't seem to spur WoW's base adoption rate (since subscriptions were right around 8 million before it was released 7 months ago). It doesn't look like WoW's in trouble, but I'm not sure how much steam it will have in the double digit millions.
