Lord knows I have my gaming blind spots (I haven t even played Katamari Damacy), so I m assuming that s the reason I don t recall the GP32 handheld frm Korea.

So I m a both puzzled and intrigued by the GPX2, a sort of follow model to the GP32. The GPX2 is a handheld that plays movies and music, shows pictures and eBooks and supports exclusive games as well as MAME, SNES, Genesis and PC titles through the use of an emulator.

Rumor has it that a true sequel to the GP32, titles the XGP, is set to be announced next month. Here s a run down of what I m told will be its specs.

1. CPU: ARM920T Core (currently working on the clock speed) 2. GPU: (currently working on the core) MPEG4, high end 3D graphics 3. RAM: 64MB (probably main memory+video memory). 4. Sound: (not revealed) 5. Display: Samsung 4" TFT-LCD 480x272, 32bit color 6. Media: SD & external USB HD 7. Network: Wireless Lan Module 8. Battery: Internal Litium Ion Battery 9. etc: PMP (music, movies, pictures and images), TV tuner, TV output

I ve never felt so much like my dad before. I have no clue what the deal is with this piece of gaming hardware.
